Hollywood Video
Sure it is not on the best side of town.
But that just means they have a great 'adult' section.

Grant strolled into Hollywood Video, his hood pulled over his head. It was freezing outside and there was no way he planned on going out and exploring
the city today. He'd been here a couple weeks and hadn't even seen half the places he was sure New Helena had to offer.
"What to get?" he asked himself, pulling his hood down. He walked toward the 'New Release' section, knowing there had to be something he could watch.
If not, he'd probably just get The Ballad of Ricky Bobby; he could watch that movie over and over again. It was hilarious and he loved comedies.
He continued side stepping, making sure he saw every movie that was on the wall, not missing one. "Hmm," he pondered, grabbing a case and reading the
back only to put it back down. "There have been no good movies out lately," he sighed, he'd either seen them or they were in theaters still. So far,
Ricky Bobby was looking even better than it originally had.

Miane walked into the store, cursing the fact that she didn't think to bring a coat. She sighed, why risk getting sick when it was just for some
goddamn movie? Was killing boredom really worth it at all? Well, anything was better than her shared flat with a girl who obviously hadn't heard of a
nifty little invention called the shower. She rolled her eyes at the thought of her flat-mate, who like to call her a different nationality every day,
just because her accent was still very un-Western. She was proud to be Romainian, proud to have gypsy in her blood. It came with what she had been
taught by her parents.
She tossed the long, naturally blonde hair over her shoulder and went to look at the newest dvd's. All crap, obviously, entertainment wasn't what it
used to be. She noticed a man a bit away from her muttering to himself, but tactifully didn't look too long. Not that she wouldn't have, he was quite
attractive.
Smiling to herself, she picked up the newest rom-com, this season box-office hit. Bunch of crap, she thought, bad actors and bad scripts seemed to go
hand in hand these days. "Pity.." she mumbled quietly. Her accent was pronounced, no matter how fluent she was, she always be known to be foreign.

He ran a hand through his shaggy brown hair, fluffing it slightly in the back. This was becoming a habit, he was doing it more and more everyday since
he'd arrived. The first week or so he hadn't been, but for some reason he just randomly did it one day, and hadn't stopped since. It's not like he was
in love with his hair, he just...liked touching it? Woo, that was very unlike him, back in Kansas he barely touched his hair, he barely even paid
attention to it.
He'd picked up at least five cases since he'd first walked in, none of them really catching his eye. Something did, however, eventually catch his eye.
A girl. A very attractive girl. He watched her for a moment, hearing her mumble something that sounded like 'pity.' But what could be a pity? Didn't
she like movies? He loved them, always had.
He put the case back down and did something that seemed to be another growing habit, talking to girls. The girls usually came to him back home, he was
always known to be a good guy, the guy every father wanted their daughter to date. He hardly ever had to be the one to start up a conversation, but
here he was, for the second time since arriving, going up to talk to a beautiful girl. "Hey," he said, smiling as he noticed how beautiful she
actually was.

A long lock of hair fell across her face as she read the next dvd she picked up. Horror this time. She brushed it impatiently out of her face, but it
fell back across her eyes. Damn hair, she tought, she'd probably have to get it cut. She blew angerily at it from the side of her mouth, but it made
no difference. She sighed and left it as it was, and continued to look at the cover of the movie. Lots of blood and gore, how quaint. She rolled hers
eyes. She loved movies, had done for a long time, but they just didn't make them like they used to.
She glanced up as the guy she'd seen earlier looked through movies, noticing he was more than attractive. Handsome, very handsome. She looked down
again, not wanting to be caught staring at him. Miane wasn't good with men, she nearly always feared them. They brought up long buried images of her
awful past. But she was getting better, treating men like they were people, not objects of terror. About time too, she missed far too many dating
oppurtunities.
Miane jumped a little as she heard someone behing her greeted her. She turned slowly, dvd still in hand. It was the guy she kept looking at. She
smiled, this was a nice change, a guy actually coming up to her, instead of being thrown at her by a friend saying "This is Fred, he's a tax
accountant and like golf, I'm sure you'll get on brilliantly. At only nineteen Miane definiatly didn't want to got out with a tax accountant. Change
was definiatly good. "Hi there," she said, smiling, hoping her accent wouldn't sound weird to him.

He had to admit, they didn't make them like they used to. However, there were two movies he would never get tired of that had been made in the past
few years, Ricky Bobby and Transformers. Both were brilliant in his mind, one a comedy and the other had a little bit of everything.
He saw the movie she held in hand; horror. Ah, now those were definitely pity worthy. All he ever seemed to do was laugh, but only at the end when he
saw them in theaters because people definitely didn't appreciate someone laughing when they were scared half out of their minds.
That small jump didn't go unnoticed. Had he startled her? Well, that was a first. Usually he was startled when girls came up to talk to him. Not that
he was socially awkward, just startled.
"Did I startle you?" he asked, his smile widening as he heard her accent. That was a bonus, a stunning girl with an accent that sounded...eastern
European? Jackpot.

Ah, Transformers, now that was a movie she loved. If sh'd known he was thinking that she would have immediatly started talking about it. One of her
top ten favourites, definiatly. It truely did have everything, and the graphics, amazing. Horrors just weren't the same. The way everyone died just
meant less bad acting to do. She shuddered at the thought of rich people that made movies, they just didn't have the skill to pull off anything more
than a few screams and being naked.
She looked up at the guy, noticing how tall he was. Woah, they sure could make them good in America, and she didn't mean the movies. She smiled, happy
he hadn't said anything about her accent. "No, not startled, just that you surprised me. I didn't hear you walk over. If I didn't know any better I'd
say you snuck up on me."

If he could read her thoughts, he'd be amazed. Not only was she gorgeous but she had excellent taste in movies. Transformers did have amazing
graphics, no one could deny that. And horrors? Well, they were good if you felt like wasting a few bucks on a Friday night.
He grinned down at her, noticing she was actually pretty tall. She was a couple inches short of being a foot shorter than he was and that was just
another plus. He liked everything about this girl so far, and the way she spoke was no exception. "Maybe I did," he winked.
"So, horror movies, eh?" he laughed, gesturing toward the dvd she held. "Are you really thinking about getting that?"

She laughed. "Well if you did you should be very ashamed. Sneaking up on a poor unsuspecting girl, I could have accidently hit you." She tipped the
dvd box off his arm playfully. "After all, I could be a black belt in kickboxing and you'd have never seen it coming. Quite upsetting, huh?" She
smiled at him, her eyes twinkling as she joked with him. Whoever said strangers weren't easy to talk to? They'd obviously poor social skills.
Miane didn't consider herself tall. Was 5' 7" tall, she'd ask her friends. They roll their eyes and started joking about eastern woman and their
height obsessions. It was funny, the way they put it at least. They were never teasing her, just joking with her, making sure she was included in
their laughter. That made her quite happy.
She put the horror movie back where she got it, feeling it would have been kinder to smash it so that no other person had the misfortune of watching
it. It would be like her own little community service. "That piece of junk? Hardly. I was more glancing at it out of boredom than anything else." She
picked up another movie, Indiana Jones. "Hmm, maybe this one? Obviously it wont be as good as the older ones, but any movie where the main character
named himself after his dog had got to be worth watching, just for the laugh. What do you think?"

He couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, really now? I do believe I could take you," his laughter continued as he spoke, "but just for laughs, let's say you
were, what would you have done? Karate chopped me?" He didn't realize he'd said karate chopped when she'd said kickboxing. Not that he cared though,
this girl was funny. Another thing he added to the list of pros in his head. And blonde. He didn't know what it was, but he loved them. He loved all
girls though, but they just held a special place in his mind.
Ok, so she wasn't extemely tall, but tall nonetheless. Most girls he knew were below 5'5" and that was still an inch above average for American women.
He didn't know how tall tall was for eastern European women though, but in his mind, she was still tall. Grant knew he was somewhat tall himself, most
of his friends around 6'1" maybe 6'2", but he didn't mind, he enjoyed it.
And his sentiments exactly. No one should ever be subjected to view that movie, it was ridiculous. Why people really wasted money on movies like that
when they could probably just perform it themselves was beyond him. It'd still have the same crappy quality.
As she picked up another movie, this time Indiana Jones, he held back a laugh. "Agreed, but, if it were me, I do believe I'd probably go with....this
one." He reached for a random case and held it up, not bothering to look at it. "What do you think?"

"Oh, I don't know. Perhaps I would have kicked you instead. I do a pretty mean roundhouse. But there's no way I'm going to show you here. Imagine the
damage I'd probably end up causing!" She laughed at the thought of the many dvd's cascading down in piles to the ground, "but if I break that movie,
then it would probably be worth the fine." She gestured to the horror movie vaguely as she spoke, and winked at the guy behind the counter who was
listening to their conversation. Probably worried about his precious movies. She giggled at the thought of him diveing out from behing the counter to
save them.
She started glancing at the movies, looking along the row and walking slowly, towards a section that said 'Adult'. She avoided it, staying at the very
edge of the 'Classics' section. Picking up an original Indianan Jones, and remembering how she always burst out laughing at their feeble attempt of
computer graphics. "They tried so hard back then, and the acting was so much because they didn't have amazing graphics to make up for it. Bad actors
were never employed, ever. Now it's more looks than anything else. Sad, isn't it?"
She was lost in thought until he picked up a random video and asked her opinion. She turned around and immediatly burst out laughing. Clutching at her
stomach and grasping a nearby rack of dvd's, she tried to calm down, but was laughing to hard. "Yeah," she finally got out, "it suits, the dvd I mean,
really . . . classy." She was overcome by another bout of laughter, "but if I were you, I might pick out something that wasn't a gay porno. 'Cum Shot
Wonders', huh?" She slid to the floor, her body shaking, but her peals of laughter now just a stream of giggles.

"Roundhouse?" he questioned, eyebrow raised. "That would be a sight to see," he laughed, imagining the sight of her trying to kick him. Ha, that would
definitely by a sight to see. He had almost a foot on her and at least 30, maybe 40 pounds. "I'd love to see that guys reaction," he added, watching
as she winked at the guy behind the counter, "he'd probably have a heart attack if you did."
He could only nod in agreement as she walked along the 'Classics' section, mentally comparing the classics to the newer movies. She was right, bad
actors were never employed. "It is," he said only loudly enough for her to hear. "That is a pity."
Her laughter caught him by surprise as she looked at the dvd he held. "What?" he blurted out. He dropped the case to the ground, it landing with a
mere thud as he almost doubled over laughing. "That....sorry....I....no," was all he could manage to get out between the bursts of laughter
that were controlling him. He thought horror movies were a waste of time, but pornos? He was only able to control himself for a few moments, but long
enough to see the man's glare from two rows over and the man behind the counter's growing glare.
"I....should....pickthatup," he managed to say at last. "And just so we're clear, gay pornos aren't really my thing," he stated, a huge grin plastered
on his after his laughter faded. Well, that was....interesting. "Indiana Jones it is then," he placed the dvd back on the shelf and smiled at the dvd
man. "He doesn't look too happy," he informed her, his smile still as wide as ever.

She glanced at the store clerk, leaning towards Grant and saying in a low voice, "No, he doesn't does he. What a shame, he might be mean and over
charge us, what do you think? Should we be good little customers and tip-toe around?" She giggled quietly, imagining the look on the guys face if they
started sneaking around. "He'd probably think we were trying to steal something and call the cops. I hope not, I'd prefer no be thought of as the
little imigrant who could, rather than the one who got stuffed in jail for the sake of a porno."
She glanced at him, for some reason she felt like being close to him. It was weird, but she was really attracted to this guy. Not so weird if she
thought about his looks and his sense of humour. Most men would get extremely embarassed at having picked up a gay porno, but not this guy. That just
made him seem even better in her eyes. "Don't worry, I believe you. I'm sorry I laughed at you, but it was just so funny, I couldn't help it."
She titled her head and looked up at him. "Jeez boy, what did they feed you back home?" She patted the top of his head, glad she didn't have to stand
on her toes to do it. "You're huge. Do they put steroids or growth hormones in the water? Or would that be telling?" She grinned and winked at him.
"Oh, I haven't introduced myself. I'm Miane," she said, tucking the two Indiana Jones' movies under her arm and holding out her hand. "That's the
American way to greet someone, isn't it? In Europe we kiss someone on the cheek as we shake their hand But I get the feeling that isn't right here."

"I think he'd still see us," he laughed, "tip-toeing would only make me taller." The look on the guys face if they did would be priceless though.
Probably thinking they were about to steal some random movie, but who would do that? Going 'downtown' for even a second because they stole a movie, a
crappy one at that, wouldn't be worth it. Funny? Yes. Stupid? Yes. Worth doing? No. "And imagine how my family would feel if I called them from jail.
'Hey mom. Oh nothing, I'm just sitting in jail for stealing a porno.' That'd be a great way to start a conversation, especially when I add small
detail of the girl who made me do it." He nudged her lightly before continuing, "But knowing my mom, she'd probably be ecstatic. She'd be just begging
for me to tell her all about you," he laughed. That was exactly what would happen, but he didn't mind, he was liking this girl. A lot.
Felt like being close to him? If he could've heard her thoughts, there was no doubt he'd have his arm wrapped around her in a second. He didn't have a
strong will power when it came to girls, giving them whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. And she wouldn't be an exception. If she wanted him
to get that porno, he would, but he wouldn't tell her that, that was just a little too much. "No hurt feelings," he chuckled, "I honestly thought I
grabbed a 'classic' not some porno."
He was more amused than shocked when she asked what they fed him back home. "Ah," he sighed, "corn mostly. That's what growing up in the Midwest will
get you, corn and more corn." Grant didn't mind though, corn was his favorite vegetable after all. Seeing corn field after corn field, and a soy bean
field grew old for most people, but to him, it was comforting. "My dad would beat me to a pulp if I even thought about taking those," he added, it was
true. "Grant," he smiled, extending his hand to meet her own. "I wouldn't mind a European greeting though, it's always good to expand your horizons,"
he joked. Now if only he could find a movie to watch, things would be even better.

"Yeah, and you definiatly don't need any extra height that's for sure. But, maybe a porno would be worth it. What would you say if I told you I
watched it, porn that is. Just watched, not any of the things usually do when viewing porn. Would you think I was weird?" She winked at him. It was
true. She'd watch porn if it was on the t.v. when she couldn't sleep. She found it funny, and knew the moaning annoyed her roommate alot, but that
just made it better. But if she ever was arrested, who would she call? She had no one, not anywhere. Completely alone, if you didn't count her friends
who lived a town away. It made her feel sad, and suddenly she felt very lonely. At least she knew she better off here, safe from tormenting memories.
She shivered at the thought, forcing her memories back, locking them away again. "Would you really blame it all on little old moi?" She asked, smiling
again, "how un-gentlemanly. But what would you tell your mother about the stranger you barely know? Foreign? Check. Blonde? Check. Like movies? Check.
Oh, be sure to tell her my favourite is Transformers, will you?" She grinned cheekily at him.
"Ah, corn. Should have guessed. All corny goodness is bound to be good for you. I'm sure you town festivals would include a lovely buffet. Hmm, but
whatever would you serve? Oh, I know. Corn! What a lovely idea." She laughed. She wasn't a huge fan of vegtables, prefering to it mostly wheat based
food. She didn't have a strong digestive system, vegtables made her feel sick. "Grant, I like it, the name suits you. Oh, and the European way is much
better." She felt foward and kissed him on each cheek twice.

He shook his head, "Thanks. And no, I wouldn't think you're weird." He really wouldn't, many adults had seen porn, he just preferred not to watch it.
He didn't have anything against it, just when he was with a girl, he wanted to be with the girl. Not have some other guy, or millions of guys at that,
watching. Now that, just creeped him out.
That shiver triggered something in Grant. He just wanted to hug her, tell her not to worry, tell her that he was here now, nothing was going to get
her. And truthfully, if he had his way, nothing would ever hurt her again. He was so protective of all girls it was ridiculous. He couldn't stand to
see any girl upset, it was all just part of his weakness towards girls. Always being there for them, even when he didn't want to be, and always being
their protector. He guessed it also had to do with the fact that he had two younger sisters, but that was different. They were his family and this
girl was just a stranger. More like a friend now.
"Oh, no, I wouldn't blame all of it on you, I'd gladly tell her that I spoke to you first. Would that make me more gentlemanly?" His mom
would be truly excited if he told her about Miane. She'd probably already be making wedding arrangements, but that was his mom, she was over the top
and he loved it. "I'll be sure to tell her," he grinned, "I wouldn't think of leaving that very important detail out." To his mom, that detail would
be one of the most important ones, they both loved the same movie. A match made in heaven in her eyes.
"How'd you know? We had corn festivals and everything. Twice a year usually, one in the spring and one in the fall." He sounded like he was joking but
he was serious. They really did have corn festivals. They had corn eating contests, corn mazes, and those were only two things the festivals
offered.
The kisses she left on his cheeks made Grant feel surprisingly warm and fuzzy, and he never felt warm and fuzzy. When a girl would kiss him, it was
usually just as friends and even though the kisses she gave him weren't 'real' kisses, they counted for something to him. "So Miane," he began,
placing an arm around her shoulders, "two questions. One; how do you feel about kissing strangers? And two; would you consider us friends?" Oh, now
wasn't he subtle? Very.

Miane couldn't remember being protected. The night her parents died was a blur, but she guessed they would have protected her, she knew she'd loved
them very much. The thought brought tears to her eyes, which she hastily wiped away, not wanting Grant to see them. She always tried to be strong,
tried to move on through life as though she'd had a lovely chilhood. She always told people her parents had died when their caravan caught fire. It
was just easier that way, the pity more managable.
"Well, I'm glad I wouldn't be the the one to bear the brunt of the blame. Imagine what your friends would think. Seduced into cry by a flighty foreign
temptress, oh the shame." She sighed theatrically, then winked at him. Ah mothers, how adorable they could be. She wondered what her mother would have
been like? Rushing her to get married? Or encouraging her to have an independant life first? She'd never know now, but was that good or bad? No, how
could it ever be good? She sighed, but than laughed as Grant talked. "They actually have corn festivals? No way. Don't worry, I'm not about to tease
you about it, I think it's adorable!"
She almost shivered in pleasure as he casually draped his arm across her shoulders. She didn't feel like shrugging off his touch, and that made her
feel happy, and she felt her heart tug. A warm feeling was spreading through her body, and it felt very comfortable. She liked this new feeling. She
laughed at his words. "Of course we're already friends, I would have told you to go away by now if we weren't. After all, I take all the cute, tall,
funny people as my own." She grinned, hoping her answer wasn't stupid.
"As for your first question... what do you mean by 'kissing'? This one?" she pecked him on the cheek again, "or a different one?"

His friends would be dying of laughter when he told them the story of how he go put in jail for stealing some stupid porno, but that laughter would be
cut short when he told them of Miane, the 'flighty foreign temptress' as she had called herself. And his mother would be pushing for something,
anything between the two of them. His mother didn't like many of the girls back in Wichita, she said they tried too hard and that she wanted him to
see what other types of girls the world offered. Well, his mom got her wish, he'd found a winner.
"I might just have to take you to one one day then, I think you'd enjoy it, but you'd probably be sick of corn for the rest of your life." The fact
that she didn't shrug off his touch made him feel great. He relished in the feeling, the way she was making him feel. "Cute? Is that all I am?" he
pouted, not that cute wasn't a good thing because it was, but he was wondering what he could get her to say.
And where he actually got the courage to ask her that first question was beyond him. Back home, he would've never done that. That was too bold for
him, but being here was changing him and for the better. "That's a start," he smiled. Instead of continuing on like he thought he would, he bent down
a bit to kiss her forehead. "Y'know, I'm beginning to like this little game we have going on here," he chuckled, referring to the kissing. "I think I
could do this for awhile."

Her friends would have laughed too, but then have been both jealous and very happy for her about meeting Grant. Hell, she was happy for herself. No
matter what happened, even if they only became good friends, she'd be happy to have met Grant. It felt weird, enjoying the company of a male. Not an
unpleasant weird, but a nice one. Her friends would start asking questions about him that she would not be able to answer, and would peobably think
she wasn't being forward enough. But she didn't want to be forward, she wanted to enjoy the moment. That was an okay thing to do, right?
"I'd like that. As long as you're sure I wont get sick. I'm sure I'll be fine, I just wont try and become Miss Corn 2008 or anything. Now that would
be an interesting part, wouldn't it? The best corn themed contestant wins. My hair could do all the work. Not that I'd ever enter a beauty contest or
anything." she smiled. "Yes cute, but I was referring more to your personality. You are, of course, very handsome," she struggled slightly over that
sentence, the words coming out more accented than usual. She blushed slightly. "Sorry, I wish my accent was not so pronounced. It would make speaking
english much easier."
She smiled and kissed the tip of his nose. "I rather like this game too. But what happens when the places to kiss run out?" She grinned to show him
she was joking, well she was half-joking, but didn't really expect him to answer. It had been a very weird question, the type to make people
uncomfrtable. She peeked up at him from under her hair, which had once again fallen into her face.

"You would have my vote, and probably all the rest of the guys' in the city" he joked thinking about his sister who usually won, it was like, her
'thing.' He didn't even understand why other girls entered when they knew she'd get it, but Miane, would definitely give his sister a run for her
money. There was no doubt in his mind Miane would win either and that she'd make all the girls jealous. They had been trying year after year to win
and when Miane, who didn't even know about the festival to begin with, won, they'd be fuming.
"Well, I would hope I was handsome otherwise you might just run off with some other 6'5" guy from the Midwest, who was 'cuter' than me." He smiled
down at her, knowing she was having some difficulty with that sentence, "Don't apologize, it's adorable. Not to mention, very hot. And who
cares about English? I'm sure we could communicate just fine without speaking," he winked, clearly joking.
She had just kissed the tip of his nose, now that, was the cutest he'd ever seen. "I'm sure we won't run out of places," he smiled, using his fingers
to gently push her hair out of her face and kissing her temple.
"Do you want any candy or something?" He looked around the store, eyeing the candy by the clerk. "I'll pay," he offered, finally acting like the true
gentleman he was, kissing her temple again. "I was thinking maybe I'd get some cotton candy, or some chocolate. I'm in the mood for something sweet."
And not just you, he thought, another smile lighting up his face.

"I'm glad to hear it, but I'm sure you're exaggerating about all those men voting for me. I'm nothing special, I'm sure. Also, I would not like to
contest your sister. She must be stunning if she resembles you in anyway. But maybe I'll force you to enter a corn eating contest to prove you
manliness. I could always help by eating the bits of your face," she laughed and nudged him playfully. "You're not a true man if you can't eat a huge
amount of yellow vegetables.” She giggled, poking his flat stomach, feeling the muscles beneath. “I’m also sure the other contestants would not be
very happy if a newcomer won, especially considering I’m not even American.”
“Oh no, of course I wouldn’t run off with another 6’ 5” guy, I wouldn’t mind him being 6’ 4” or lower.” She grinned cheekily. “I wouldn’t even mind if
he was only six foot. I’m not picky.” It amazed her how easily she was teasing him, and finding it very funny to do so. She was also thankful he was
so understanding. “Thanks, but you can’t be serious? My accent is hot? I very much doubt it. You must have difficulty understanding me, surely?”
“I hope we don’t. I’m beginning to enjoy this game too.” She smiled up at him and kissed his jaw line, it being the easiest place for her to reach.
She liked when he kissed her temple, it was incredibly sweet to her.
She followed his eyes to the candy clerk. “Hmm, yeah I guess some chocolate would be nice, but I’d really prefer to buy it myself, no offense.” She
dragged him over to the counter and picked the biggest bar of chocolate there, paying for it with some change she had in her pocket. “I couldn’t have
you buying things for me; it wouldn’t feel right to me. I’m sorry if I’ve offended you by it.” She opened the bar quickly and took a huge mouthful.
“Mmm, so good,” she mumbled thickly. She broke off a piece and handed him some, “Do you now candy is called sweets in most places in Europe, and the
sidewalk called the path?”

He chuckled as she poked his toned stomach. "They'd get over it, after all, I'm sure some of them would be glad my sister didn't win, but if you don't
feel like it then I guess we could find something else for you to do," he winked. "Like eating bits of corn off my face." That sounded like a deal to
him. Not only would he be thoroughly amused but every guy would be jealous. He'd also have a girlfriend if he took her back home. Not that he didn't
have any before, but they hadn't had any serious potential like Miane did.
"Aww," he pouted, " you really wouldn't do that now, would you? I think I'd be heartbroken," he joked. "And even if I was having difficulty
understanding you, I'd probably just make do with kissing. I mean, if you didn't want me to kiss you all you'd have to do was slap me, and I'd get
it." Grant couldn't help but laugh, some words she said were a bit iffy, but in context he could understand them.
He followed her to the counter, a huge grin on his face. She just kissed his jawline. His jawline! Never had a girl kissed his jawline before but now
he was wishing she'd do it again. He was getting the tingles just thinking about it. "I'm not offended," he said, "I like a girl who doesn't expect me
to pay for everything, not that I mind doing it though." It was true, his father had raised him to pay for practically everything, it was the
gentlemanly thing to do. "Do you try to be cute or is that just how you are?" He felt his heart tug when she took a huge bite of her chocolate bar and
handed him a piece. "Yum," he smiled. "Sweets and paths? Then what do you call an actual path, like a path through the forest?" He had just learned
something new today, that made up for him not exploring the city more.
He kissed her temple once more, wrapping an arm around her waist. "Any other movies you want to get?" he asked, leading her back down the aisles. "I
know I still have to find one or two to get."

"Oh, definatly. Although I'd probably end up loving corn forever. I'd always be remembering your face. It would end up being my favourite vegetable,
despite the taste." She like that, other guys being jealous of him because of her. It would make her feel special. Wasn't that what every girl was
supposed to want, a guy making her feel like she was the only girl in the world? It had always sounded stupid to Miane, she'd told herself she'd never
need a man to make her feel special. Funny how you can be so wrong about the things you're surest of. Not that she wasn't happy about it. In fact, she
was very happy, and Grant was making her feel like the only girl in the world, and it felt so good.
"Oh, well, when you put it that way..." she laughed and kissed his jaw again. "Of course I'd never find someone else. You're too unique! Not to
mention, if I went off with someone else, well, some other girl would snap you up and I'd be very jealous. But hopefully the girl would suffer no
damage." She grinned and nudged her head against his chest, liking the smell of his aftershave, the feel of the t-shirt against her cheek.
She kissed his neck this time, not in an overtly erotic way, but a playful way. Much easier to reach too. Was it bad that she already wanted to wrap
herself around him and kiss him in a way that would definiatly make the candy clery and cashier keel over? Probably was, but that didn't make the
feeling go away. "I don't think girls should ever expect a man to pay for everything. Women can be self-sufficient, there is absolutely no reason to
let the man shoulder the bill completely." She blushed. "I'm not cute. Well, I don't try to be! What did I do that you found cute?" She smiled, liked
how he hadn't resisted the chocolate. "Hmm, I thinked they're just called paths as well. We also don't have Thanksgiving, but you probably knew that.
It's an American thing, is it not?"
She smiled up at him, her blonde hair shining beneath the store's lights. She leaned against his arm, enjoying the closeness. "Hmm, I don't know. I
think I'll just get Transformers and be set for the night..." her voice trailed off, not liking the sound of another night alone and watching movies.
She sighed unhappily.

Another girl? Ha, he highly doubted that. As of right now, she was the only girl on his mind. He was going to do his best to be more than 'just
friends' with her and he didn't plan on messing that up. "You wouldn't have to worry about another girl snatching me up, I'd be too focused on getting
you back to notice," he laughed, his hand falling to her hip. He momentarily wrapped his other arm around her as she nudged him, pulling her closer if
only for a split second.
He felt the tingles shoot through his entire body as she kissed his neck. He wished his body wouldn't have that reaction to her subtle kisses, even
her touch, he was trying his hardest to not kiss her in a way that would get them thrown out of the store.
Grant nodded as she told him how she felt about men paying for everything, he agreed. "True," he said quietly. "The way you just shoved all that
chocolate in your mouth was very cute, and that blush? Definitely cute," he laughed. Grant had never been one to turn down chocolate, he loved it just
as much as girls did, so said his brother. Pfft, his brother, he rolled his eyes at the thought.
"Makes sense and I knew that," he smiled proudly, glad he wasn't a complete failure when it came to foreign cultures. Thanksgiving was truly an
American thing.
He enjoyed the closeness too, so much that he moved his arm from her hip to just below her shoulder, turning her slightly so she was even closer.
"Transformers?" his eyebrows raised in excitement. He was such a little boy sometimes. "Sounds good," he exhaled, "but I'm not liking that tone," he
stated, stopping mid step to wrap both arms around her lower back so he could lift her up to his level. He leaned his head forward, resting his
forehead against hers. "Cheer up," he smiled, lifting his head and kissing where his forehead had just been. "We could go somewhere, like out for
dinner or dessert, or something if you wanted. But if not, I'm getting your number before you leave." He didn't feel like putting her down, but he did
anyways, letting his arm fall to the small of her back. "And you're getting mine," he informed her, a smile playing on his lips.

More than 'just friends' was exactly what Miane had been hoping for. She would have kissed him right there and then if she knew he wanted they same.
Probably have ended up tearing of his clothes too. Maybe it was lucky she didn't know he thought that, because she didn't want him to lose all respect
for her. Save it all for another place, preferably a deserted place. “Well I’m glad you’d be trying to win me back. I’ve never had someone fight for
me before.” She sighed and leaned into him again.
She’d like it if his kisses were more than just subtle, it would make her more than happy. She liked his reaction to the gentle touch of her lips on
his neck. She did it again, wondering what he’d react like. She wouldn’t mind getting thrown out of the store.
Miane lent her head against his chest again, loving to be near him. “Well, I’m glad you find me cute. You wouldn’t have any interest in me if I didn’t
interest you in some way now would you.” She laughed and winked at him. “I just love chocolate. I don’t care what people say about it being bad for
you. Do I look like a woman who cares about my figure? I don’t, truly. I’ve never been one to fuss over my figure. I am what I am, people can accept
it if they want and if they don’t, it doesn’t bother me.”
“Well, you call Autumn fall. We don’t. Also, we don’t have any states, just county’s and provinces. I’m sure there is lots of other things, but I
can’t really think of them.” She smiled sweetly at him, her cheeks still rosy from blushing.
She smiled at him, their faces now level. “Wow, so this is the view you’ve got from here? It’s great. I’ve always wondered what I’ve been missing.”
She leant forward and softly kissed his lips, pressing her self against him lightly. She felt so happy, kissing him like this. It felt easy and
casual, but also very good. She really liked kissing him. “Dinner sounds great, but maybe I should go home and change?” After all, she was only wear a
pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a clingy white t-shirt, She pouted when he put her down, arms wrapping around his neck. “Hey, no fair. I’m short
again.” But then she smiled again. “Of course you’re getting my number. I’d force it on you if you didn’t ask first, and force yours from you too,”
She grinned and stood on tip-toe to peck him on the lips again.
